What is Litecoin
Litecoin is an open-source decentralized digital currency, launched in October 2011 as a fork of Bitcoin. LTC is considered to be a lite version of BTC, although their source codes are almost identical. Main differencies of Litecoin from Bitcoin are an increased maximum supply of coins (84 million), decreased block creation time (2.5 minutes), modified graphical user interface, and different hashing algorithm (scrypt). Litecoin has adopted SegWit and Lightning Network protocol.
